Become Veillorz is a narrative game that will take you into space to become Veillorz.


 

Explore the SciFi universe of Memoirs of a Veillorz in this narrative game. Players can engage in missions, pilot spaceships, visit planets, and control various characters.

This game allows players to immerse themselves in the SciFi universe of Memoirs of a Veillorz. The aim is not only to provide relaxation but also to raise awareness of various themes in an accessible manner.

Story

In this narrative, Primo joins the Veillorz Academy as part of its first-ever class. Players will uncover the history of the Veillorz Order, its values, and more through conversations and interviews. They will also learn to pilot, regardless of their chosen path : Itinarat, Atacheðœ, Piðotes, Historðin. Players will engage with the academy's directors, accompanying them on visits to planets and undertaking various missions. They can explore friendly planets and complete small quests to learn about the planets' history, inhabitants, and species, as well as their respective solar systems. For inhospitable planets, players will learn about them at the academy.

Players will attend classes to learn about spaceships and explore some corvets in the garages. They will also visit a docked cruiser at the base. Basic piloting skills for small ships will be taught, regardless of their chosen path.

Players will have the opportunity to form friendships with various characters residing at the main base and their fellow classmates. They can engage in conversations with them at the cafeteria. A private room will be available for players to store their belongings and take a rest. The base library will provide information through data carriers.

The game unfolds over the course of a year, with the solstice festival occurring in the middle, taking place at the main base. An additional element compared to the Ren'Py version will include a segment based on the film "Jack's Christmas," enabling players to control young Jack and experience the piloting and planet exploration aspects more directly.

Why a website for a game?

A first version of this story exists in the form of a game created with Ren'Py, a few years ago. You can find all the information here and on the website Memoirs of a Veillorz.
This site is dedicated to the version currently under development. This new version is made under Unreal Engine.
This time, you will be able to move around the places to visit, interact with the environment, chat with the people around you, complete missions, etc. There will also be small games integrated to look for objects, practice shooting and other things. There will be interactive maps to move around the different planets and the possible various places on them.
In this version, it will also be possible to take control of other characters to access their memories, while in the current version, these are stories told. At least, an additional story will be added.
You will have to make choices that will have an influence on future events. You will be able to build relationships with other people. The story takes place over a year with the winter solstice in the middle.
This version will be enhanced with at least ten cinematic sequences. You will be able to visit around fifty places. At the end, if you have correctly completed all the assigned quests, you will receive your Veillorz badge depending on the choice made at the beginning of the game.
Music and sound effects created by Serge Longoulet, who created the entire musical universe for Memoirs of a Veillorz and the spin-off series, will be added to improve the user experience.

How to support this project?

This project, like that of the game Double murder, is entirely done by me for all the programming part, creation of environments, etc. Only a few alien characters that only exist in 2D today will be created in 3D by people who know how to sculpt much better than me in order to have beautiful renderings. These characters will also be used in several other stories of the cycle. The music will be done by Serge, as always. The texts must also be corrected in French and English. Some texts will be modified, others added and will therefore require a new correction/translation in both languages. I will probably ask a little assistance from a small studio to finalize some animations. The voices are created via elevenlabs.io, in order to have the same voices in the different languages ​​and for all the stories. Some already exist in audiobook and/or graphic audiobook and it is important to me that each character remains associated with his voice in each story.
In short, all this takes time and also costs money, not to mention that I have to be able to free up time to devote myself to the migration of the two games (this one and Double murder) and to the creation of the following ones.
